Dr. Serenity Rose King
Associate Vice President for Institutional Success and Decision Support, The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas)
In her current role, Serentiy oversees institutional research, analytics, and reporting; university accreditation and assessment; institutional effectiveness technology; and policy and curriculum development, including new degree and certificate program proposal development. She served for sixteen years in the UT Dallas Provost’s Office, most recently as Associate Provost for Policy and Program Coordination. During her time at UT Dallas, Serenity has co-authored and had approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board more than fifty new degree program proposals, helping to spur UT Dallas’s explosive student enrollment growth, which has increased by more than 60% over the last decade. She serves on numerous university, UT System, and statewide committees and is current President of the Texas Council of Chief Academic Officers. In fall 2019, Serenity and Dr. Inga H. Musselman, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, launched Lead UTD, a cohort-based faculty leadership development and administrative training program for deans, associate deans, assistant deans, and department/program heads. Prior to joining UT Dallas, Serenity worked at the Texas Tech Health Science Center-Amarillo. She has a PhD in Public Affairs and is a proud alum of Academic Impressions’ November 2018 Building an In-House Leadership Development conference.
