Dr. Brad Mahon

As a leader in the continuing education sector, Dr. Brad Mahon has built a career establishing strategic and synergic partnerships with other post-secondary institutions, community organizations, industry, and on campus with other faculties and departments. He is an ambassador for lifelong learning, as reflected in his advocacy for impactful programming that enables professionals who are seeking career enhancement or career change. Brad also enjoys navigating the paradoxical challenges and opportunities of operating an entrepreneurial, revenue-generating unit that exists under the umbrella of a publicly funded school. Brad began his post-secondary career in 1997 at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He naturally transitioned into various administrative positions and ultimately to senior leadership roles at Medicine Hat College and the University of Regina. In January 2017, Brad moved back to Calgary where he is Dean of the Faculty of Continuing Education and Extension at Mount Royal University. When not in committee meetings or studying spreadsheets, he appears nationally and internationally as an award-winning and acclaimed guitarist, adjudicator, clinician, and lecturer. He has three commercial recordings, has appeared as a guest on several other recordings, and also continues to maintain his long-standing affiliation with the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Dr. Jenni Murphy, Ed.D.

Dr. Murphy has over 20 years of professional experience in the areas of training, operations, human resources, project management, marketing, and education. She has had a successful and rewarding career at Sacramento State for the past 19 years and enjoys the opportunity to blend professional and personal activities to give back to her community. Throughout her career she has applied her professional background, personal characteristics, and academic training to build and implement strategies that move organizations forward. She was the recipient of the 2018 American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Sacramento Chapter’s prestigious Chester A. Newland Academic Excellence Award for her leadership in the education of public administrators, was also one of seven “Women of Influence” honored by Sacramento State for outstanding leadership on campus and in the community, and received the 2019 Edward M. McAleer Jr. Excellence and Innovation Award from the California State University Commission on the Extended University. Dr. Thomas Aubrey

Dr. Thomas E. Rojo Aubrey, DBH-c, MSC, LAMFT, CMHFA, CCTP, CFTP, CFTPI, is the Director of Behavioral Health Sciences and Professor at Glendale Community College (GCC) in Glendale, Arizona. He is also an adjunct professor at Northern Arizona State University (NAU). Dr. Aubrey has a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. He attained his doctorate in behavioral health (integrated behavioral medicine) from Arizona State University (ASU) and is currently working on a second doctorate in cognitive psychology. He is the author of the textbook, The Resilient Learner: Thriving and Succeeding In College, and co-author of the books: Transformative Care: A Trauma-Focused Approach to Caregiving and Unlocking the Code to Human Resiliency: Building Professional Resiliency Against Burnout, Traumatic Stress, and Compassion Fatigue. Cindy Babington

Cindy Babington is a higher education consultant helping institutions create staff development and performance management plans, identify staffing gaps and needs, leverage assessment results for decision-making, and develop programs and policies that best serve students. She has provided professional development workshops on emotional intelligence, change leadership, career discernment, employee coaching, and strategic planning. Cindy provides this expertise from her experience in higher education, where she led and developed large staffs that successfully administered programs in student life, admissions, and financial aid to diverse groups of students. At DePauw University, she served in Cabinet-level positions, including Dean of Students, Vice President for Student Life, Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid, and Chief of Staff and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. Cindy is a trained facilitator of the EQ-I 2.0, an instrument that assesses emotional intelligence.

Cara Hardin, J.D.

Cara Hardin is an attorney serving as Title IX Deputy Coordinator for Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cara helps coordinate and monitor Marquette’s compliance with Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1972 and all associated regulations. She is the lead investigator of formal complaints alleging sexual harassment and the lead investigator and adjudicator of formal complaints alleging sex discrimination and other sexual misconduct filed by Marquette students, faculty, and staff. In addition to her role at Marquette, Cara currently serves as a faculty member and Title IX subject-matter expert for Academic Impressions, a professional development company for higher education institutions. Through Academic Impressions and other contracting opportunities, Cara regularly develops and conducts intensive and hands-on training for public and private higher education professionals throughout the country in the areas of Title IX investigations, adjudications, informal resolutions, and general compliance. Joe L. McGonegal

Joe McGonegal is an award-winning higher-education advancement and communications professional with two decades of experience in college and university roles. Trained as a journalist and teacher, Joe spent 15 years in high school and college classrooms before pursuing administrative roles in communications and advancement. At MIT, Joe leads a team of five that produces events, programs, and services in the areas of shared interest groups, lifelong learning, and career services for the more than 137,000 living MIT alumni. Recently, Joe has written about online/digital engagement for The New England Journal of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, and the Academic Impressions blog. Joe holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English and education from Marquette University and a master’s degree in journalism from Harvard University.

Lauren Scott

Dr. Scott has more than 13 years of experience working in undergraduate admissions and enrollment at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), a four-year public institution. As the Senior Associate Director of Admission at UNCW, she is responsible for developing recruitment and enrollment plans and adjusting strategy as institutional goals and student needs and demographics change. She works collaboratively on marketing strategies at every stage of the enrollment funnel, including segmenting populations to increase engagement among students. She is a self-proclaimed data nerd who uses historical institutional trends and predictive analytics to inform decisions and create a path for enrollment growth. In addition to enrollment management, she has also served as an instructor for UNCW’s First-Year Seminar course that supports new students as they integrate into the college experience. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Masters of Public Administration, and her Doctorate of Education (Ed.D) in Higher Education Leadership.

Brandi Foley-Rodgers

Brandi Foley-Rodgers is the Director of Human Resources for the Office of the President, Provost, and Executive Vice President for Research at the Georgia Institute of Technology. After earning her Bachelor’s degree from Clark Atlanta University in 2000, she joined Georgia Tech to work in the Office of Human Resources. Brandi has been working as a strategic partner in the field of human resources for over 19 years with experience in the areas of recruiting, compensation, and employee relations. She has held the Professional in Human Resources designation and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional certification.

Amir Beg

Amir began in data entry / order fulfillment and is now the Academic Impressions’ desktop and IT support technician. He is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (GO PACK GO!) and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for his Healthcare Administration bachelor’s degree. When not in the office, he’s usually working on open source projects like mobile motion analysis to help doctors/clinicians accurately detect if a patient has scoliosis and automated home devices for insurance companies. In his free time he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and traveling solo – he has almost covered the entire eastern half of the U.S.
