This program is for the LSU A&M Campus. Make sure that you are signed into your Academic Impressions account using your LSU A&M credentials and click “Express Register” on the right to access the resources and assessments. The goal of this program is to help emerging and aspiring leaders build a strong foundation of self-awareness and interpersonal skills that will support them throughout their leadership journey. Participants will explore key competencies, tools, and strategies they can apply now and in future roles—whether in formal leadership positions or other professional contexts. By strengthening their understanding of themselves and others, emerging leaders will be better equipped to lead with confidence, empathy, and effectiveness. Empowered Leadership There is no one-size-fits-all approach to leadership. Leadership is contextual and situational and, ultimately, the most successful approach is one that is authentic to the leader. In our opening session, we’re going to participate in an activity that helps you connect with your authentic leadership style. We’ll identify some of the qualities, skills and actions that we think effective leaders embrace and then you’ll have the opportunity to start crafting a personalized definition of leadership – one that reflects your authentic leadership voice. These sessions are in […]

Empowered Leadership and Debrief of Five Paths to Leadership | February 6, 2026 | 9:00am-12:00pm ET Facilitators: Corinne Nicolas and Jeanne Hey This session was our first meeting with the group. We facilitated an exercise to encourage participants to begin defining themselves as leaders, asking them to begin drafting a personal definition of leadership in 25 words or less. We asked them to bring this draft to a coaching session for further exploration and refinement. We also debriefed their Five Paths to Leadership self-assessment results, sharing our own as examples. Participants began summarizing their results, reflecting on what they mean and how they shape their identities as leaders in the academic community. If you are unfamiliar with Five Paths, you can find more information on our website. Pre-Work: Complete the Five Paths to Leadership® Self-Assessment. This five-day leadership development program, facilitated by Academic Impressions, is designed to strengthen leadership capacity across our Advancement division. Built around the Office of Advancement Leadership Principles—act with integrity; be courageous, trustworthy, and effective in communications; care for the whole person; and demonstrate accountability and resilience—the program provides a shared framework for how we lead ourselves, our teams, and our work together. Over the course five full-day workshops, participants engage in highly interactive sessions that combine self-reflection, skill-building, and applied practice. By engaging in this program together, OA professionals build stronger relationships across the division, create alignment around core leadership values, and practice the skills needed to communicate with courage, lead with integrity, and support one another through change. Agenda topics are subject to change based on ongoing collaboration between Georgetown and Academic Impressions. Please revisit this page for updated pre-work and other information in advance of each session. Having a network of support throughout your career is key to success and sustainability. As faculty, you may have been assigned a mentor—or matched with one through a formal mentoring program. With this in mind, you may need to ask for mentoring support from other faculty, staff, or professionals you know in order to enhance one particular area of your work. These relationships can often be short-term and centered around a specific need. Making that “ask” of someone clearly and concisely will help potential mentors to match themselves with your needs and understand the time commitment you are asking for. Join us for a discussion on how to “make the ask” of a potential mentor in order to develop a mentoring network for yourself. Drawing from Katharine Stewart’s work in The Consultative Approach to Mentoring: Building a Network of Support, we will: You will leave the discussion with a sense of who you may need to reach out to for short-term mentorship, along with some valuable strategies to use to reach out to them.
