Jill Anderson

Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement, Moravian University

Jill C. Anderson serves as the vice president for development and alumni engagement at Moravian University & Moravian Theological Seminary (Bethlehem, Pa.) and Lancaster Theological Seminary (Lancaster, PA). Before her time at Moravian, Jill served in engagement and development leadership positions at Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA), Drew University & Theological School (Madison, NJ), and at her alma mater, Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA). It was here that she began her career in higher education in 1999. Before this, Jill excelled in management roles in finance and supervisory positions for a children’s residential treatment center. 

In all her roles, Jill has been a strategic leader in successfully developing, supporting, implementing, and closing innumerable mini-campaigns and comprehensive fundraising campaigns, ranging between $75M to $500M. Most recently, she publicly launched one institution’s multi-million-dollar campaign at 77% of the goal while simultaneously closing another institution’s multi-million-dollar campaign at 121% over the plan. She consistently demonstrates her agility and intuitive nature and is an accomplished frontline fundraiser, adept at partnering with high-net-worth individuals, families, corporations, and foundations. Jill is exceptionally proficient at identifying and amplifying the intersection of philanthropic interests and community needs. She is a proven industry leader who regularly presents topics ranging from campaign development, strategic planning, and communications to volunteer management and board training. 

Jill was recognized as the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) District II Professional of the Year (2022) and was elected to serve on the District II Cabinet, the largest of the eight districts. CASE also recognized her and her teams with the Seal of Excellence: Alumni Relations: Regional Programs/Clubs/ Chapters/Branches (2002); District II Accolades: Bronze Award Winner – Fundraising (2018), District II Accolades: Gold Award Winner – Videos: Alumni & Fundraising (2019), and Best of District II Award for Principal Gift Stewardship (2022). She was further honored with the Lehigh University Alumni Award (2016). Additionally, Jill serves on the American Civil Liberties Union Pennsylvania Board of Directors as the second Vice President, the governance committee Chair, and the nominating committee co-Chair. 

In addition to her experience, Jill is a doctoral student in the Philanthropic Leadership program at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from Lehigh University, a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University, and a Certificate for the Harvard Institute for Education Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Jill is also a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP), Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE), CASE Standards Scholar, and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AiP).
