Gabe Brannan
Gabe brings more than a decade’s worth of frontline fundraising with him that includes annual, planned and major gift solicitation. In addition, he has experience in event planning, board relations and successful grant writing. In his fundraising career, Gabe has worked directly with numerous chairs in departments ranging from History to Molecular Biosciences. He believes that it is a Chair’s role to set priorities, be enthusiastic about fundraising and to have direct involvement with the solicitation of gifts. His advice has always been simple: be concise about what you are asking for and then don’t be afraid to ask.
Beyond his work in higher education, Gabe sits on the board of a nationally recognized outdoor education organization where he helped build a robust fundraising program from the ground up. Gabe points to his degree in English (Washington State University, 2000) as having the strongest influence on his fundraising style, noting that it is the power of story that best conveys an institution’s needs to its donors.
