Susan L. Wheeler
Prior to becoming the University Counsel and Special Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Wheeler served as Policy and Legal Affairs Advisor at James Madison University. She was an Associate General Counsel, University Counsel, and Interim General Counsel at the University of Houston System. She also served as a briefing attorney and research attorney for the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas, and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas.
Ms. Wheeler has presented at various higher education law conferences, including those sponsored by the NACUA, the Stetson University College of Law’s Annual Conference on Law and Higher Education, the Texas Association of State University Attorneys, the University of Houston’s Institute of Higher Education Law and Governance, and the University of North Texas’s Higher Education Law Conference. She has served on numerous NACUA committees, and as a member of the Board of Directors of NACUA.
