Susan Ko
An expert on faculty development and online teaching, Dr. Susan Ko has been supporting faculty in their transition to online and blended teaching since 1997. She co-authored a leading book on the subject of online teaching, widely adopted over the past decade by faculty development programs nationwide, entitled Teaching Online: A Practical Guide, now in its third edition and is also the editor of Routledge’s Best Practices in Online Teaching and Learning book series.
Before heading up the Office of Faculty Development and Instructional Technology at City University of New York’s School of Professional Studies, she served as Executive Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at University of Maryland University College and held a variety of positions related to faculty training and online course design in the non-profit and for-profit education sectors. Underpinning her work in faculty development, she has many years of experience teaching in both on-campus and online classrooms.
