Rob Freidhoff
Prior to his time at the University of Michigan, Rob spent ten years advising in the College of Engineering and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). The appropriate use of technology to enhance the academic advising experience has been a passion for Rob during his advising career. His primary focus has been on proactively reaching out to freshman, international, and transfer students prior to their arrival on campus. Web video, social media, screencasting, and web conferencing are technologies Rob’s office has utilized to extend advising services. As a member of the Appreciative Advising national team, Rob assisted in the development of the Appreciative Advising online course offered through the University of South Carolina, and currently operates as the lead course administrator.
