Tracy Hirata-Edds, Ph.D.
Tracy coordinates Advanced English for Academic Purposes, a transition course for second-language international students entering the university. She also teaches language courses in short-term programs for Fulbright students and junior faculty and to students entering graduate and undergraduate degree programs or working on thesis projects for their degree programs. In addition, Tracy is a consultant to Cherokee Nation’s Language Revitalization Program and is a mentor for the International Scholar program. She was a Fulbright Research Scholar and Lecturer in Nepal and a US Peace Corps recruiter and volunteer, and she received a grant from the National Science Foundation for documenting endangered language for her research on the Cherokee language. She has published articles, conducted workshops, and presented at national conferences on topics related to language instruction.
