Mary Sapp

Dr. Sapp has been involved with institutional research and planning since 1983. While president of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), she initiated the AIR Alert series, which keeps members informed about emerging issues in higher education. She has also served as president of the Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR) and as chair of the Board of Directors of the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) and received Outstanding Service Awards from both AIR and SAIR.

Dr. Sapp has chaired and served on a number of Technical Review Panels (TRPs) for the National Center for Education Statistics, including serving as the chair of the two TRPs that addressed topics relating to Net Price. She has also chaired and served on Working Groups for the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative (under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Education) and various committees of AIR, SAIR, HEDS, SCUP, NACUBO, and CAUSE. She has a number of publications and has made over a hundred presentations at conferences. Dr. Sapp holds a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology from the L.L. Thurstone Psychometric Laboratory at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
