Chrissy Roth-Francis
Chrissy oversees transitional services for new undergraduate students at UC Berkeley, including Cal Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and the overnight housing program for admitted students. Chrissy spent six years at the University of Southern California where she was responsible for coordinating international student orientation for more than 2,000 students each year as well as overseeing orientations in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Additionally, Chrissy created and managed “The United States: An American Culture Series,” where USC staff members and graduate students teach new international students about American ways and values throughout their first semester.
Chrissy received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, her master’s degree in higher education from New York University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from USC. She is an active member of NODA- Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention in Higher Education, and is the co-founder of the International Student Orientation Network.
